I am excited as I look forward to my second year riding the MSU Gran Fondo. The fun part is that 10 other friends are joining with me for the ride. We will be riding the 40 mile course. Once again I am asking you to consider helping Michigan State Universitiy College of Human Medicine continue their research into finding cures for skin cancer and it’s prevention. I have recapped the story of why I ride for this cause.
In 2004 my father in law passed away as a result of melanoma. That same year, my wife Debbie was diagnosed with melanoma as well. With early detection, surgery was performed and it was successful. A few years later, a dear friend and missions colleague was diagnosed with melanoma. It took his life. Through modern treatments and much grace, some have survived. Others have not. The MSU Gran Fondo is my opportunity to get some skin in the game and provide hope for nearly 70,000 people in the U.S. expected to be diagnosed with melanomas of the skin this year. I have set a fundraising goal of at least $1000. I would love you to join my team. 100% of all donations go to the cause and are tax deductible.
