Two years ago Alida, Cassidy, and I took on the 10 mile family ride on our cargo bike.
Last year they came to cheer me on as I tackled the 80 mile ride to Lake Michigan and back.
This year, the whole family is getting involved and taking on the 11 mile family ride. No more riding on the back of the bike for the girls... they are ready for the challenge of riding on their own! Even Will is getting in on things this year from his perch atop Keri's three-speed!
Most of us have known someone who has personally fought the battle against cancer. Through modern treatments and much grace, some have survived. Others have not. The MSU Gran Fondo is our opportunity to get some skin in the game and provide hope for nearly 70,000 people in the U.S. expected to be diagnosed with melanomas of the skin this year.
Funds raised from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Gran Fondo support skin cancer awareness, prevention and research at MSU. These dollars are funding pilot studies – investigative, next-step research that tests findings and enables a scientific study to continue.
On June 22, the streets of West Michigan will be paved with good intentions. And here’s where we need your help. I hope you will join us in supporting a mission that is more than skin deep. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to support skin cancer awareness, prevention and research. There's not many other rides that can say that. Please consider donating today. Together we can make a difference. Thank you!
