June 16 Update: We're just days away from 2019 MSU Gran Fondo! Watch our video from our latest training ride!
On June 22, 2019 I will again be riding my bicycle in the MSU Gran Fondo. Why do I continue to do this year after year?
- This is extremely personal for me and my family: As a skin cancer survivor, I have skin in the game. And it doesn't only impact me; it might impact you: one in five Americans will develop skin cancer before the age of 70.
- This event raises thousands of dollars each year to fund skin cancer prevention, awareness, and research at the MSU College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids. Funds raised from this event have already contributed to research breakthroughs.
- Beer! After 80 miles, I want to drink a beer. Or two. I also want to eat, and the post-race party has me covered.
With your help, I'm proud that together we have raised more than $4500 for skin cancer over the past five years. This year, I'm setting a fundraising goal of $2000; I'm kicking if off with my own $50 contribution. Anything you can give, whether it is a $1 or $10 or $50 or more is genuinely appreciated and really helps keep me my legs churning in the weeks and months leading to the big ride!
And know that 100% of your donation goes directly to support skin cancer prevention, awareness, and research.
Thanks so much for your support!
