On June 23, I am riding in the sixth annual MSU Gran Fondo. This fun, non-competitive cycling event supports Michigan State University College of Human Medicine's skin cancer awareness, prevention and research.

Cyclists of all skill levels ride along scenic 12, 25, 40 or 80-mile routes from downtown Grand Rapids to the Lake Michigan Shoreline. Riders enjoy gourmet food stops along the route and celebrate at the Finish Line Festival with live music, craft brews and a grand feast.

In its sixth year, the MSU Gran Fondo has already drawn over 5,000 riders from across the globe to its scenic Michigan course and has raised nearly $700,000 in the fight against skin cancer.

Every dollar raised goes directly to researching new therapies to treat skin cancer and improving the lives of those battling it.
